Wide Awake 2nd Announcement

As Wide Awake gears up for its fourth year, we are beyond excited to bring you the first wave of artists set to take the stage at Brockwell Park on May 25th. Brought to you by LNZRT, Bad Vibrations and the team behind iconic London venues MOTH Club and The Shacklewell Arms, Wide Awake is a carefully curated independent festival showcasing the very best emerging talent in leftfield Indie, Post Punk, Electronica, Techno and more. Programmed for the music heads looking to discover something different, at Wide Awake we are united by a love of music that is unconstrained by genre or convention.

Filling a gap in the London live music scene, Wide Awake brings underground sounds to the forefront and this year’s lineup is no different. We’ve got KEXP legends Cheryl Waters and Larry Mizell, Jr hosting the main stage and an eclectic lineup of the best up-and-coming musical talent.

Taking over Brockwell Park on Saturday, 25th May, our lineup includes Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers, UK post-punk favourites Squid, beloved DJs Ben UFO and Helena Hauff, electronic pop legend Alice Glass, and Australian rockers C.O.F.F.I.N. Also new to the bill are The Babe Rainbow, The Dare, Decius, Etran De L’air, Crumb, Eartheater, Upchuck, and YHWH Nailgun.

Young Fathers are hot off the back of their recent award-winning album ‘Heavy Heavy’ on Ninja Tune, which was shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize. Pennsylvanian multi-instrumentalist Eartheater has just released her fifth album ‘Powders’, with part two ‘Aftermath’ set to drop in 2024, while one of the most recognisable voices in electronic pop, Alice Glass, released her debut solo album, ‘PREY//IV’ in early 2022.

Acclaimed experimental DJ and composer David Holmes is bringing his selection of cinematic, rock ‘n’ roll, psych, experimental and independent music to Brockwell Park. With more cutting-edge electronic and experimental pop artists still to be announced, it’s fair to say this year is gonna be stacked.

We cannot forget our unreal headliners, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The prolific Aussie rockers have just released their synth-based masterpiece, ‘The Silver Cord’. Over the past 25 albums, King Gizz have explored a wide range of genres across psychedelic rock, garage rock, surf rock, psychedelic pop, synth-pop, heavy metal, thrash metal and sludge. Dive into the gizzverse with us at Brockwell Park.

But it’s not just about the music. Since its inception, Wide Awake has ensured at least a minimum of 50% female representation on the lineup to give space for women in the industry to have equal opportunities. We’re committed to our sustainable ‘Positive Policy’ as we want to help change how live music events take responsibility for actions towards the planet. We’re talking hedonism but in a progressive way.

Wide Awake has become a cultural force, a platform for grassroots music and a celebration of counterculture. Past guests include Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, Daniel Avery (Live), Blondshell, Faye Webster, Enumclaw, Jockstrap, Molchat Doma, The Bug Club, Osees, Bicep, black midi, Amyl & the Sniffers, Yard Act, Overmono and 100s more. With a uniquely crafted line-up that you won’t find anywhere else in the UK, Wide Awake is a party for people who care about music and more.
